Locally Inspired

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

 (Attributed to Mark Twain)

Southeast Asia has been a powerful source of inspiration for many. Locals and travelers alike have created exciting new products based on traditional patterns, designs, and flavors. Navvin and I have been hunting for new ideas and products that encapsulate the diversity of South East Asia for several years now and we have become regular customers to many of these businesses.

Convinced of their amazing ideas, we have decided that we want to shed some light on these creative entrepreneurs who have taken a simple idea inspired by Southeast Asian culture and turned into a great pattern or product with a modern twist. Others have come up with a great more sustainable solution to a persisting problem such as ocean plastics and pollution or have found ways to create new jobs, support community projects and lift people out of poverty.
